All financial statements prepared and audited in Kenya apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-Sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs). These are accounting rules used in majority of the countries in the world and they govern the way financial transactions and events are accounted and reported in financial statements to make them consistent, compatible and transparent.
